Jason Luke's The Light House ☄Review☄

Title - The light house

Author - Jason Luke

Genre - New Adult, Contemporary Romance

‘The light house’ - A love story.
Art has always been Blake McGrath’s life. Scarred by tragedy, he’s hiding from the world on a lonely beach, struggling with loss and bitter regrets.

Connie is a disillusioned art dealer with troubled relationship issues of her own. Through her sudden mysterious appearance, Blake once again returns to the craft he has mastered to prove to himself that there is hope, that redemption is possible… and that love can last.

The Light House was an unexpected treasure to read. Jason Luke has created a book that provides mystery, romance, tragedy and healing. A beautiful book of love, redemption and new beginnings. Connie is a woman who has suffered enough at the hands of Duncan. A man who has kept her under his thumb and his threats keep her from running. Blake is the man who saves her and she rescues him in return.

The book begins slow as it builds the story, but gradually picks up pace and it will be hard to put down after a time. The prologue is dark and sad as we are learning about Connie's state of mind. It gives us a connection to her. I admit I lost a bit of this connection when she is in the art gallery and finds a painting and becomes a bit over the top manic in meeting the artist. Reading Duncan's cold and abusive scene with another artist was chilling. Knowing this is what Connie has delt with up to this point. Blake is brooding, mysterious and sad, even so I feel more connected to him than any of the other characters in the book. He seems more real.

Feeling the anticipation build for this romance to bloom into something was a constant ache in my chest! Also waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop with Duncan kept me on edge. Then BOOM! A twist I should have seen coming but didn't and it changed everything and I was so sucked in and lost. I still can not connect to Connie to much but I had no problem connecting to Blake and the empathy he created was phenomenal. The ending was excellent. I highly recommend this book
