Christi Snow's Snowcroft Safehouse ❆Book Review❆

A year ago Declan Jasper was entertaining sold-out arena crowds as the lead singer of Black Rainbows. But that came to an explosive end when the band got caught up in a criminal cover-up, one that ended with the entire band dead. At least that’s what everyone is supposed to think.

Now, Dex is hiding in plain sight, working as the school band director in a sleepy little mountain resort town while under the protection of a hard-nosed FBI agent. Instead of eyeliner and black leather, he now wears glasses and corduroy. Instead of having sexy coeds—both male and female—throw themselves into his bed, he’s dealing with teenage angst and grumpy parents.

At the top of his troubles list is Kelsey Walker, a junior high bundle of rare musical talent in the form of one confused, messed-up adolescent. Dex figures the problem comes from her broken home and wants to help. But when he meets her father, sexy bar-owner, Jack Walker, he realizes that instead of helping he’s probably just bringing more trouble and danger to their door.

Dex has to stay alive until the trial to bring his bandmates’ murderers to justice, but can he do that if it means sacrificing his own happily ever after?

Finn- Dex: Soul survivor, in Witness Protection, doesn't do complicated anymore

Jack: in the closet, has a daughter, complicated

Snowcroft Safehouse is the second book in the series, even though you aren't missing out on anything if you hadn't read the first book. This is a stand alone novel and can hold itself up without the first book. I just want to seriously read the first book now because of all the hinting around in this book on what happened in the first book. The writing, story development, character interaction, and the way she described the environment and action was just fantastic. It kept me entertained and I was so engrossed in the book I didn't want it to end.

Finn's struggle with PTSD was so well written it was a punch to the chest and caused physical pain when he was going through it. When he was caring for Law who was acting as his new found brother I felt the caring he actually felt for him. When Finn was fighting his attraction and lust for Jack it was a struggle I could feel him fighting. Then you add in Jack's own battle trying to keep his sexuality in the closet but not able to keep from acting on his attraction to Finn. It is amazing when they finally give in. Law's pain was was one that was deeply felt though not delved into deeply.

As I read the book I could not help but cheer for these two. One completely broke by what he went through, the other so cautious and scared of a future and is afraid to take a step forward with Finn. Then you have Law who is also completely broken and when I read the first book I will know why and I want good things for him. The drama and suspense and trauma comes to a head and I can honestly say I thought my heart stopped. Christi Snow you know how to spin a tale that makes me want more and I am dying to hear Law's! I highly recommend this book for those who love romance, love suspense, love a M/M romance and just love a fantastic story that makes you feel every bit of emotion that it has to offer.

As an avid reader her entire life, Christi Snow always dreamed of writing books that brought to others the kind of joy she felt when she read. But...she never did anything about it besides jot down a few ideas and sparse scenes.

When she turned 41, she decided it was time to go after her dream and started writing. Within four months, she'd written over 150,000 words and hasn't stopped since.

She's found her calling by writing about sexy, alpha heroes and smart, tough heroines falling in love and finding their passion. She's truly living the dream and loving every minute of it.
