Rebecca Zanetti's Wicked Ride ≾ARC Review≿

Synopsis

If you love the Dark Protectors, these wicked hot Realm Enforcers are for you!

Alexandra Monzelle is a hard-fighting, heat-packing Seattle vice cop, and she’s not much interested in being protected. Her short skirt and sex-kitten heels are tools to lure her suspects into talking about the deadly new drug hitting the streets. She can take care of herself and then some. Unfortunately, she can’t seem to get that through to Kellach Dunne.
Kellach is a fresh import from Dublin, and he’s landed at the heart of a vicious motorcycle club that deals in guns, narcotics, and mayhem. He’s all male, all rough power—and all interference in her damn investigation. Maybe he’s one of the good guys. Maybe not. Lex knows an affair with an immortal like him would risk everything. No matter how delicious he looks…

Wicked Ride is the first book in Rebecca Zanetti's new series Realm Enforcers, an offshoot of her Dark Protectors series, which I absolutely LOVED. I can not say how much I liked the fact that characters from Dark Protectors have crossed over into this series. This world is already known to those of us who have read the previous series but for those new to it, this book will open up a new experience and they will be able to enjoy it letting their imaginations fly. The writing is descriptive and colorful, enabling me to picture each scene almost down to the smells. The characters are complex and interact the way I would expect real people to act in certain scenarios and respond to shocking experiences. I did have a hard time dealing with one moment in the book when there was a little dubious consent. She had said no and he said yes and it was a dominance thing. It wasn't a huge moment and not that big of a deal in the book, but it didn't do it for me personally. That was the only problem I had with the book.

I loved following Alexandra and Kellach as they tried to find the distributor of the Apollo drug. Then the struggle as they fought then gave into their attraction to one another. The witches in this book are not like any that you have read about before. They don't wear pointed hats, ride broom sticks, or have warts. They are immortal, predatory, and gorgeous. If that isn't enough to know about them they have a governing coven with enforcers to protect themselves and humans. Kellach is one of these enforcers posing as a member of the Titans of Fire MC. Alexandra is a Detective for Seattle PD. Unfortunately she doesn't know he is working for the same result and makes his life very hard even as he messes with her investigation. With a few twists and a lot of humor along with some toe curling explosive moments between these two unlikely lovers this book kept me enthralled in its pages. I didn't want to leave Zanetti's world of vampires, witches and shifters. This new series promises to be absolutely fantastic just as captivating as her other books. I highly recommend it to paranormal romance lovers, this one comes with some kick and humor!
