He's never met a challenge he couldn't take...
Alexis Yeung did everything right....only to watch everything go horribly, horribly wrong. Broken and angry, Alexis high-tails it to Europe, determined to face the world on her own terms and without consequence. Which includes a mind-blowing night with a sexy, scarred stranger.
Except, embittered former pararescuer Luke Jackson isn't exactly a stranger. He's supposed to keep an eye on Alexis without her knowing. Ending up in bed together was definitely not the plan. Now he's chasing her (admittedly hot) ass across Europe, a game of cat and mouse that always ends with the two of them tangled up in the sheets.
Something in their scarred, damaged souls calls to each other. And God help them, the sex in unbelievably hot. But if Alexis discovers who Luke really is, he'll lose the one thing that makes him feel whole...
See where it all began with book 1 of the Out of Uniform series, In Bed with Mr. Wrong.
His Lover to Protect was great book. This is the second book in the Out of Uniform series but is a standalone and can be read as such. This book was emotional and beautiful. I loved both characters, they were broken and sad, but together could they heal each others brokenness? The writing was hard, gruff and full of attitude and sensual and sexy when they weren't. Luke was constantly fighting his demons then he meets Alexis who completely confused him and then he was fighting demons on top of uncommon need. Alexis is running, from her past, from her life, from everything. She is hoping to find her future by finding herself and who she is during her trek across Europe.
These two come together like oil and water but blaze like fire to gasoline. They make no sense except they recognize something in each other. This book is just beautiful. A woman finding herself but not in the way she expected and a man who finds something he never knew he needed. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a beautiful sexy love story.
My rating system is different form Amazon where this will be a 4☆. See my rating chart to the right.
How does an author pick a favorite hero? It’s damn near impossible. I’ve joked in the past that my favorite hero is the one that I’m writing right now! It’s the truth—though there will always be those that stand out in any given series. You know the ones. They steal your heart and, even when you move on to the next book, they keep a little part of it.
The Out of Uniform series is no different. I love Ryan and Aaron and Drew and Luke. They all bring so much to the table and are such perfect fits for their heroines. But my favorite?
God, it’s so hard to pick just one!
Okay, okay. If I had to pick one for myself, it would be Aaron (His to Keep). Of them all, he’s the one with the least issues. He’s this giant of a man who’s totally willing to play the long game and wait for his woman to realize that she’s his—and has been his all along. Aaron’s like a big sexy blanket that you can wrap around yourself and will keep you safe. I wrote him at a time in my life that was pretty tumultuous, and I think his stability kind of reflects that. He’s one of the few heroes that didn’t fight me during the writing process.
In addition to that, his epilogue is probably my favorite I’ve written to date. The man knows that his heroine’s daughter is her world, and he’s totally willing to make her his world, too. To me, that’s sexier than a guy who will drag you into a closet and have his wicked way with you… Though Aaron’s man enough for that job, too!
Basically, he’s the full package. I try to make ALL my heroes the full package in different ways, but Aaron’s the one who’s always knocked my socks off.
