Relationships in the office are forbidden. So no one is more surprised than Maggie when she pretends to be his fiancée to save him during a difficult situation. Not only has she put her job on the line, but the future of the company.Billionaire Benjamin Gale III doesn't believe in love or romance, but the look on his mother's face when Maggie tells her that she's his fiancée is worth millions. Instead of firing her for her insubordination, he goes along with the ruse. In his arms–and in his bed–she'd be everything he could ever want...which is why he can't have her.But if he doesn't let her go, they'll lose everything...
Beauty and the Boss is a modern day grown up version of Beauty and the Beast only this Beast has a wicked mother and the Beauty isn't held prisoner. This is a new twist to an old story and it was entertaining if a bit predictable. Benjamin has the mother from hell and is trying hard to make up for past sins. Maggie is just a hard worker in his office who has quietly watched her boss, but Benjamin has always noticed studious Maggie. Never planning to pursue her no matter how much he wanted to. A set of bizarre circumstances led him to the very thing he wanted.
The book was a fun read. The two characters set off fireworks. The mother is someone a reader will love to hate. Watching Maggie make Benjamin come alive was what I enjoyed most about the book.
This is a good read for these cold nights.
My rating system is different from Amazon where this will be a 4☆. See my rating chart to the right.
