Love can grow in even the harshest conditions.
Life has been a struggle for Lachlan Buttar ever since his mother passed away and left him unprepared to take care of himself. He goes from homeless to staying with a local minister—but it soon becomes clear he will be better off, and safer, on his own. Fortunately Foster and Javi encounter the young man and offer him a real home on their dairy farm.
It’s there that Lachlan meets another of the workers, local farmer Abe Armitage. Though the attraction between them is instant, Abe refuses to act on it until Lachlan comes of age. By then, strong feelings have taken root, and a passionate romance quickly blossoms. But both men carry baggage that could crush any chance of happiness together, particularly since Lachlan witnessed a crime, and there are those who will do anything to make sure he cannot reveal what he’s seen.

This is book 2 of Planting Dreams series though it can be read as a stand alone. It will give some spoilers to book 1 if you hadn't read it but nothing very big. As with all of Mr. Grey's books you know his characters always get their man, but it does give information as to the what happened.

Now as for this second book! It keeps the same cast only switches players and adds a new interest. This time we get to watch Foster's best friend Abe fall for the man of his dreams. These two guys were nearly saccharine sweet and yet it was a really good book. It dealt with some serious issues and had a touch of suspense. Abe and Lachlan's romance wasn't whirl wind or overly passionate. They just fit together. They were like magnets drawn to each other, that perfect warmth felt wrapped in each others arms and when the fire was lit they went up in flames. It just seemed like they fit a piece each was missing. It was lovely. I would certainly recommend this book to all who enjoy a sweet romance with a touch of suspense.
