Learning to Love Again was a sweet second chance romance. Kelli wrote some great dynamic characters for this book. Nicole who is so scared to love because of her mother's warnings and laments that it will ruin her life. Jason who was ready to make a life with her and loved her even 10 years later. Jack her best friend and would do anything to make her happy even if it was underhanded.

I enjoyed the second chance these two had as well as the mystery that she needs to solve so she can move on with her life. She becomes much stronger throughout the book and I like seeing her become this way. Jason is my dream man in that he not only super smart but he is that understanding guy that wants to make her feel loved, appreciated as well as protected and wanted. Together they are so much more than they ever were apart.

The supportive friends and family to me are what made this book so great. And having it written so that I can feel the closeness is an amazing gift. I recommend this book to all romance lovers and those who love second chance romance. This is a perfect fit for anyone who needs a pick me up and wanting to read a sweet love story.

Jack left the hospital and sat in his silent pickup truck, watching the traffic as it sped by.  There was a reason he’d elected not to practice law in a big city and traffic had been at the top of the list.  The constant backstabbing he’d seen as everyone tried to get ahead in the private practices hadn’t made him a fan of working in the city, either.  There was also the added benefit of being his own boss and getting to pick and choose his clients.  Small town law was where he belonged.
He hit the button on his phone, allowing it to dial the number he’d pulled up.
“Did you talk to her?”  Jason’s voice demanded to know as soon as he answered.
“And hello to you, too.”  Jack spat out a wry rebuttal.
“Sorry.  Hello.  How’s life?  Mine sucks.  Now, did you talk to Nicole?”  Jason repeated.
“God, Jason, are we still in junior high?  Should I try and pass her a note between classes next?”  Jack was kind of enjoying torturing his friend.  He’d never seen him this uptight about a woman before.  The fact that it was Nicole, well, he wasn’t sure how he felt about that quite yet.  After all, they had been raised as close as any other siblings, and they knew more secrets about each other than most best friends.
“Jack!  Are you listening?”  His friend’s impatient voice yelled in his ear.
“Yeah, sorry…zoned out for a minute.”  Jack smothered a yawn.  “Yes, Jason, I talked to Nicole.  She’s upset that decisions are being made about her life without any input from her, but for now she’s agreed to come back to Waketon.”  He heard a rush of breath that was released and almost chuckled.  “You need to start setting up the rehab for her and whatever else she’ll need.  I plan to stick around here for another day-or-so, and then I’ll head home.  That way I can get the ranch ready for her, have Maria set things up there.”
“And then maybe I can figure out what the hell happened ten years ago and why she kicked me to the curb.”  There was a resigned sigh over the line.  “Dude, I start call tomorrow, so if anything comes up, text me.  The way my luck has been running, every orthopedic emergency in ninety-seven counties will happen in the next seventy-two hours.
Jack chuckled and hung up the phone, shaking his head over the knots Nicole still had that poor guy in.

Character Cast
Nicole Winters:  Grew up in Waketon, Texas, a small town in the Hill Country; her paerents were killed when she was a teenager and she moved in with her aunt and uncle.  She left Waketon to attend the University of Texas at Austin, then attended law school.  She’s only loved one man in her life, but she left him behind because she didn’t want to make the mistakes her mother made.  But now, after surviving a horrific car accident, she has to return home to Waketon to recuperate.  And the love of her youth is now her doctor.

Jason Morrow:  Fell in love with Nicole when they were both in Austin, while she was attending college and he was finishing up his residency program as an orthopedic doctor.  She was the cousin of his best friend and he knew she was it for him, but she left as soon as her degree was in hand, never looking back.  When the opportunity came for him to move to her hometown, he took it, always hoping that someday she’d return.

Jack Williams:  One of Nicole’s best friends since childhood, and he probably knows her better than anyone.  His uncle is married to her aunt, and along with their mutual cousin Mitch, they grew up together in Waketon.  Jack is also an attorney, and other than the time he was away for college and active duty in the Army, he has spent his whole life in Waketon.  He owns his own law practice there now, too.  Jack is the one Nicole tends to run to when she needs a shoulder to lean on.

Mitch Williams:  Nicole’s and Jack’s mutual cousin; married to Carly; Mitch was the one who introduced Jason and Nicole back in their college days.  He and Jack have been instrumental in helping to get them back together.

Carly Williams: married to Mitch; born and raised in Waketon, attended a local community college, so she has truly never left.  She has always been there for Nicole if she needed a girlfriend to talk to.  She also helps push Jason and Nicole back together.

Aunt Helen:  Nicole’s aunt, her mother’s sister; Mitch’s mom
Uncle Steve:  married to Helen, Mitch’s dad

Author Information
Kelli grew up all over the East Coast but her family finally settled in Cincinnati long enough for her to finish high school and college.  She has always loved to read books and write her own stories.  In high school, she used to pass around the latest chapter of the story she was writing for her friends to read.  There is more than one high school teacher out there that can probably remember telling her to put the book down and pay attention to the lectures.
Graduating from the University of Cincinnati with her BS in Nursing, she left Ohio for Texas and the U.S. Army.  She received a medical discharge for a knee injury, but was able to meet the man she'd one day call her husband first--thanks to some mutual friends who insisted they would perfect together.  And what do you know--they are!
She continued to read books by the dozens and write her own stories.  And then one day, a friend dared her to enter a contest.  She didn’t win, but the feedback she received from the judges convinced her that maybe people were interested in the stories she wanted to tell.
She still lives in Central Texas, with her husband, two children and 2 dogs.

Dillon McDowell, an infectious disease specialist, jumps at the opportunity to work with Doctors Without Borders in Liberia. A hint of normalcy comes when a group of local boys invite Dillon to play soccer.
Will’s family rejected him for being gay, and he’s closed off his heart. Even though meeting Dillon opens him to the possibility of love, he’s wary. They come from different worlds, and Will plans to volunteer for another stint overseas. But Will realizes what Dillon means to him when Dillon becomes ill, and they can no longer deny their feelings.
When Dillon’s soccer friends lose their parents and aunt to disease, Will and Dillon must work together to ensure that the boys aren’t cast adrift in a society that’s afraid they might be contagious.  They must also decide if their feelings are real or just the result of proximity and hardship.

“She helped me when I first arrived.” Dillon would have shaken hands, but she made no effort to, and Dillon thought it best. He’d noticed that casual contact between staff members seemed limited.
“Welcome,” she said. “I am sorry I was short with you when you arrived.”
“Nothing to apologize for. You were busy.” Dillon tried to stifle the yawn that formed, but he couldn’t. Dillon wondered if he should go back to bed or if he should check on patients. Will made the decision for him.
“Call if you need anything at all,” Will said to Teta and turned to walk back toward their quarters.
“I wasn’t sure if we should just get to work,” Dillon said.
“There’s always more work to do, but sometimes sleep is the best medicine, for them and for us. Get some rest—you’re going to need it.” Will placed a hand on his shoulder as soon as they entered their room. It didn’t remain there long, but it was enough to send heat coursing through Dillon. He was so tempted to shift closer to Will, but the hand slipped away. Dillon didn’t move, waiting for what came next, but Will’s bed creaked, and Dillon took off his shoes and climbed into his own.
Hot breath ghosted over Dillon’s lips. A warm hand slipped beneath his shirt, making little circles on his belly. Dillon luxuriated in the feel of that firm, caressing hand. He smiled and slowly reached upward, wrapping his arms around Will’s neck, pressing their lips together in a demanding kiss. Will tasted just the way Dillon had thought he would, like the outdoors, as if trees and flowers had coalesced into a man. He whimpered softly as Will’s kiss became more demanding and he tweaked Dillon’s nipple before starting a slow journey down his chest and over his belly. Will paused at his belt, and when Dillon sucked in his breath, Will continued further, brushing against his cock, encircling him with strong fingers, squeezing delightfully.
“Dillon, are you all right?” A hand pressed to his forehead, and Dillon snapped awake, the dream that had surrounded him so amazingly popping like a soap bubble.
“Yeah,” he said breathlessly.
“You were muttering in your sleep and seemed restless.” Will removed his hand and stepped back. Dillon instantly missed the gentle touch. “I hated to wake you, but….”
“I’m sorry if I woke you.” Dillon took a deep breath, the dream, which had been so deliciously vivid, already fading. “What time is it?”
“About four,” Will answered. “Go back to sleep.”
Dillon heard Will go back to bed, and he rolled over onto his side away from Will and tried not to center his concentration on where Will had touched him. He wasn’t a teenager and had had relationships before. He was just hypersensitive because of the new surroundings and being so far away from everything familiar. At least that was what he told himself as he tried to go back to sleep.

A Spirit without Borders became one of my favorite Andrew Grey books. He always seems to deal with real life issues or problems that people could have in real life then finding the perfect way to deal with them. The way they are written puts me in the book whether I feel as if I am part of the main character or just watching from above as everything is happening. I absolutely love his writing and how he handles all these issues.

He also has great characters who support the story. Dillon who is extremely wealthy and an excellent infectious disease Doctor is being sent to Dr's without Borders program in Africa to learn some humility and how to be a team player to help fight Ebola. Will who has been infected with Ebola before and works tirelessly to help others fight it has only 3 more months left on his time before he leaves. Both are gay but being in a foreign country it isn't safe to advertise that fact. I love how the attraction isn't apparent to either one for a while but when they both figure it out it is on! These two are so interesting to read. Will is completely alone in the world while Dillon is constantly fighting with his parents trying to force them to realize he is in fact gay. It becomes fast apparent these two needed each other.

Fighting this disease forges a bond between these two and several kids that is so fantastic to read. The pain and sadness that is in the pages as well as the joy and fun are all things that is so well written I could close my eyes and practically hear them. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for just a great story and a wonderful romance.

Social media an overall bane of the world? Or like most things used wrongly and excessively?
Both.  Sometimes the whole social media thing because so very overwhelming.  There are so many to choose form and it can suck away all your time.  I found that as long as I stick with one or two media and don’t try to do them all, I’m good.  I do Facebook extensively and I tweet.  I found out a while ago, that I had to limit my time on all social media or I’d never get any work done.  So I write blog posts and post them or I take pictures and for posting.  I try my best to keep things easy on myself.
There are things about social media that bother me.  Facebook direct messaging.  I use it to communicate with some friends, but the people who troll for sex and things like that are such a waste of my time.  If you really want to get in touch with me, please send an email, I respond to them all.  But that I can do in my own time and it’s so much easier.  (In the time it took me to write this post, 3 people messaged me.  Two were big boobed girls.  Can you saw barking up the wrong tree?)
Don’t get me wrong, I try my best to answer my Facebook messages, but I can’t stop working every time I get messaged or I could get nowhere.  It’s just not my preferred method of communication.  See sometimes social media is the bane of the world.   But I love the contact with readers and friends.

Love is her enemy…until his beast sets her free.
Cymbeline Kendall’s life is quiet, solitary—until a letter appears in her P.O. box. Then she becomes an Incendiary, a human chosen at birth to be trained to strike like lightning to take out the most dangerous of the Werekind, then fade back into the shadows. She is a weapon only to be used by the leader of North American shifters. But when she learns the Alphar was unseated three years ago, she sets out to find who’s been pulling her trigger. Kerrick Masterson has borne the burden of leadership for only a short time, yet he already feels the Alphar power tempting his soul toward the insanity that destroyed his predecessor. He has no time for the woman who breaks into his compound claiming to be his Incendiary, but his beast insists he make the time—for his mate. In one searing, soul-consuming breath, everything Cymbeline was taught to believe is ripped away. Yet the mystery of who’s been sending her orders remains…and finding the answer could lead to all-out war. Warning: Contains an assassin who doesn’t tolerate those who hurt the weak, and a shifter leader determined to unlock his new mate’s repressed emotions—even if that puts his balls at risk. Explicit sex, violence, and references to abuse that could be rough on sensitive readers.

To Mate An Assassin was an exciting new spin on paranormal reading. I enjoy a good paranormal romance and this one gave me a lot. It was full of passion and not just the panty melting kind. It also had an element that I hadn't ever read before, at least not like this. An Incendiary. An assassin, the boogieman of the shifter world. How she came to be was so interesting I wish I could have gotten even more about it in the book because it was neat. I gobbled this book up. I didn't want to stop.

Cymbeline is so passionate even when she is suppose to be a cold blooded unfeeling machine. She feels so deeply and I don't think she realizes when she does except for maybe Irisi. Kerrick the Alphar makes her very passionate and that just pisses her off. Someone sending her kills other than the Alphar really pisses her off. Thinking the Alphar ignores her for 3 years sets her off the Richter scales.

This book kept me entertained and on the edge of my seat half the time waiting for the shoe to drop.  It had it's light hearted moments and it also had it's heart felt ones. And I can not forget the very steamy ones! I also get a peek at a future book and I better get that one! It has been hinted at throughout this one and I need that story! Ceri Grenelle you know I'm talking about Jeremiah! I enjoyed this novel and recommend it to Paranormal Romance lovers, they will love it for the action and passion alone!

“Let me see it,” he said. She’d sensed him approaching, even though his tread was silent as the grave, but hadn’t had the energy to keep running. The Alphar’s shadow appeared before her, not waiting for her compliance before gently taking her hand to examine the wound.
“Shut up. Kiss me. Say it. Let me see it.” She mimicked to his downturned face as he sniffed the cut. “Ever heard of asking?”
“Not when it comes to you, apparently.” He glanced up with a short smile before turning back to her hand.
Her body slumped against the tree, the poison taking hold of her limbs. The Alphar scooped her up into his arms as if she weighed nothing and began to run back towards The Mansion.
“No,” she slurred against his chest. Mmm, he smelled good. “Don’t want to go back.”
“You’ve got Vryk blood in your system.”

“Won’t kill me.” She thought she’d smelled Vryk on the creature that had flung her back into the forest. What the hell was a Vryk doing attacking her? She had never had an issue with any Vryks. In fact she had worked amicably with many in this area in the past.
“No, but it will leave you paralyzed and helpless for about a day.”

“Leave me.”

“You really are crazy if you want me to leave youmy matein the middle of a forest crawling with my enemies when paralyzed and vulnerable. Even if you weren’t my mate I wouldn’t do that.”
A horn honked as they reached the road. Cymbeline tried to lift her head and realized she was truly paralyzed when it just lolled with every step the bastard Alphar took. A large, black van was pulled over on the side of the road. A blonde woman in a crisp, navy-blue pants suit leaned against the van and was speaking on a phone as she waved them over.
“Leave me,” Cymbeline mumbled again as her vision turned hazy. He took a rough step and her head lulled towards his chest. She could scent the dark, intangible thing telling her she wanted to stay in his arms, that it was okay to give in to him. Ignoring the whispers, she fought like hell to stay awake. But try as she might to keep her eyes open and her senses keen, she knew she would pass out soon and did not want to be left in the tender care of this man, no matter how amazing he smelled. Seriously, was this natural?
Pissed off with her failing strength, she took out her anger on the closest victim. With the last of her ebbing energy she shot her hand up and smacked the Alphar’s forehead.
He stopped walking, staring down at her incredulously. “You used the last of your strength to slap me?”
She couldn’t speak anymore so she just glared, willing him to let her go with the power of her angry stare. Instead of reacting angrily or haughtily as she’d assumed a man of his status would, he shook his head and grinned, leaning in to place a small yet firm kiss on her forehead.
“Sleep. I swear no harm will come to you.”
Staring into his black eyes as she succumbed to darkness, she almost wanted to believe him. Almost.

About Ceri Grenelle

Ceri Grenelle
I've always had an active imagination. An imagination that usually took form in the way of zoning out in the middle of conversations. I eventually decided it was time to share my daydreaming with the world and began to put my musings on paper. It started with Harry Potter fanfiction and grew from there. I am currently living it up in Northern California after a big move from New York City. And by living it up I mean staying home with my cats, obsessively watching episodes of my favorite TV shows, all of which are extremely geeky, and simultaneously reading the next book on my reading list. I do all this while trying not to pig out on unhealthy snacks. As you can tell, I lead a busy life.

Healed Teaser 26-jpeg

She heard Kota complaining about his healed knife wound itching, but it was like it was coming from a long way off. She focused on making it to the hotel room bathroom. One foot in front of the other. “Sarah, are you okay?” Was that Kali talking? “Sarah?” Just four more steps and she would reach the bathroom. A big hand opened the door and helped her to the toilet just as she heaved the contents of her stomach. She didn’t know how long she stayed kneeling in front of the commode, resting her head on the cool porcelain but it seemed like forever. The room wouldn’t stop spinning, her head was killing her, and she was shivering and sweating at the same time. Suddenly a huge hand cupped the back of her head and a cool compress wiped her face. Nate. Her head no longer felt like someone was trying to drive a spike through it. “Are you done, Angel?” Her eyes weren’t watering anymore, but she still didn’t feel up to opening them and seeing the pity in Nate’s hazel eyes. “Go away,” she said in a raspy voice. “Nope.” “Please Nate, I’m begging you. I’ll be out in a little while.” His hand lifted, and she had to stifle a groan of pain. The door opened and closed. She didn’t try to analyze why she felt both relieved and disappointed he had left, the pain in her head made higher thought impossible. The door opened again. “Is that you, Kali?” she whispered, not opening her eyes. “Nope. Can you stand?” Nate’s big hand stroking down her back felt wonderful. “I think so.” Where seconds ago she thought she might pass out from the pain, now she felt like she could push herself up off the floor. “Let me help you.” How could such a big man be so gentle? He assisted her and she found herself in front of the sink gazing into the mirror. Nate helped to balance her from behind. She looked like death warmed over. “You look beautiful.” Damn, she’d said it aloud. Sarah looked up and up and saw his utter sincerity. It was too much, so she went to rinse her mouth. “Hold onto the sink, I brought your toothbrush from the other room.” God, she didn’t want to have to go back out into the hotel room where four other people overheard her toss her cookies. Brushing her teeth would help her feel more in control. “I can stand by myself.” Sarah went to grab her toothbrush he held out, but her hand started to shake again. She realized just how bad she was shivering, but at the same time, she was dripping with sweat. Then to her utter horror she started to cry. “Come here, Angel.” Nate turned her around from the sink to take her into his arms. Her shivering and sweating stopped. He tilted her chin and used his thumbs to brush away her tears. “It’s okay to cry, to show weakness. You held it together for everyone, this is just between you and me and I promise not to tell. You can just relax for a few minutes.” “No,” she said as her teeth stopped chattering. “I want to brush my teeth.” “Then let me help you.” He turned her towards the sink, put toothpaste on the brush, and helped curl her fingers around the handle. Sarah was able to do a light brush and rinse and felt human again before she slumped against Nate. “That does it. We’re getting you to bed.” “We can’t disturb Noah.” Noah had been wounded and was resting in the hotel room where she, Kali and Sierra normally slept. She just used her newfound powers to heal both Noah and Dakota ‘Kota’ Blackthorne and apparently she was suffering the side-effects from expending the energy to do so. “I arranged for another room.” He turned her around and scooped her up into his arms. God, the man was huge. No wonder he had been so successful playing college football at Oklahoma University. “Wait, I didn’t think it was safe to get another room.” “It’s all taken care of.” If Nate said it was taken care of, then she knew it was. He would never let one of his teammate’s safety be compromised. The thought made her sad for a moment, she didn’t want to be considered just another member of the team, but thinking about it made her tired. She was too worn out to do anything more than sink into the warmth of Nate Goodman’s arms. In moments Nate was laying her on the soft surface of a bed. As soon as she was no longer touching him, her stomach heaved and she clenched her back teeth together trying desperately not to gag. “Sarah, do I need to get you to the bathroom? I was just closing the curtains.” He started to lift her and everything settled. “Just stay with me a moment. Don’t leave me.” She finally caught on, his touch made her feel better. She couldn’t explain it, but what damn thing made sense these days? Less than an hour ago she’d knit a man’s flesh together and he’d healed before her eyes. “I’m not leaving Sarah.” He brushed back her hair and kissed her forehead. She totally relaxed, taking her first settled breath in an hour. After a few minutes, he moved his hand down her body and pulled off her shoes. She wiggled her toes. “Let’s get you under these blankets.” “You’ll still stay with me?” God, who was this woman? “Don’t worry, Angel, I know this isn’t you. I know you’ll be back in fighting form tomorrow. Today is an aberration.” Shit she was saying her inside thoughts out loud. Nate barked out a laugh. “Yes you are.” “Fine if I’m saying what I’m thinking you might as well know touching you is making me less ill.” He stopped pulling back the covers and went still as stone. Damn, what else should she have expected? What man wanted to hear that kind of heavy news? “I don’t want to freak you out, Angel, but I’ve kind of been feeling sick.” “What?” Sarah pushed up on her elbows to get a better look at Nate. “Headache, sweats, nausea, chills?” She realized his normally tan skin looked pale and his short blonde hair was damp with sweat. “How is that possible? Are you saying you’ve been feeling some of the same symptoms as me?” “It was after I started touching you.” Sarah plopped back down on the bed and stared up at the ceiling trying to assimilate this latest piece of information. Nate stroked her face. “Angel?” “This is freaky,” she whispered in a daze. “I told you.” “So somehow we’re connected? Do you think it happened with Kali? Why didn’t it happen with Noah or Kota?” He just looked at her and raised his eyebrow. She blushed. “Right.” She knew why. There was already a connection between the two of them. There had been for a long time. It would have only happened with him. When she said as much, he smiled. “Thank God, I’ve been trying to figure out a way to get you to rest in my arms tonight, and now the perfect excuse lands in my lap.” Sarah peeked at him through her lashes and found him staring down at her in the dim light of the hotel room. “I’m serious. No funny business. I didn’t want to leave you alone. There was no way you were going to get me to leave this room. I was going to, at the very least, sleep on the floor, but my hope was to lie with you in my arms.” “I thought it wasn’t safe for us to get another hotel room,” Sarah said. “Angel, let’s talk about this some other time, okay? I want you to rest.” He pressed his lips to her forehead and she about melted into his arms. How she could melt into such steely muscles she didn’t know, but she had never felt safer or more comfortable. “Nate?” “Shhh, I’m tired. Can we nap for a bit?” He was such a liar. She snuggled closer, and breathed in the scent of him. A nap sounded good. She was awfully tired.

Ready or not, Jordie is forced to face his past, the fears that consume him, and the one woman he let walk away.

Kacey King had her professional dreams come true, yet her heart was battered and broken. With an Olympic gold medal around her neck, she’s ready to look forward to the future but without the one man she wanted in it. She’s missing the key pieces of her heart she left months ago with the only person who was capable of destroying it, causing her to falter in all her plans to move on.

In the game of life, there are winners and losers, and neither Jordie nor Kacey want to be on the losing bench. If only Jordie could convince Kacey he’s a changed man and that he wants her right by his side as his MVP for the biggest and best parts of a life they build together. With emotions running high and the game on the line, can two proud people find happiness with each other, or will their hearts and souls be left in the cold? Will they see that sometimes having someone by your side who knows the good, bad, and broken is better than going it alone and losing everything through the back of the net? They are out of time on the game clock and fighting for the win of their lives.

But overtime was made for an Assassin like Jordie.

“What? Scared I’ll get my feelings hurt?”
“You don’t have feelings, Jordie. You’re allergic to them,” she said simply, her hand digging deeper into his skin.
He smiled, covering the grimace that was surfacing. She did her job great, but she had always been a little rough. “That’s not true. I have feelings for you.”
She paused and looked up at him. “Wanting to fuck me may be a feeling but not the feelings I want.”

Writing sucks. Period. That’s why I am an artist; illustrator and graphic designer who writes in a hobby basis. Oh, wait… That’s not the “why”… I was born artist, and there is nothing I can do to change it. But with all the imagination I have running lose, there came some stories… And there came some books! When I’m not doing artwork and illustration for authors and bands, I’m doing woodcarving, painting ornaments, painting artworks for myself, writing articles for IT’S ART MAG, collaborating with other artists and so on. Love Arts, History and Heavy Metal.Oh, and summer is a bitch! Always. Anywhere in the world.

They reached the mansion’s entrance hall at just the right time. Elisa was so weak she could barely stand and the world was spinning around her in slow motion. Leonhard placed her on the couch. He feared she would faint, like she had the other times.
“Dr. Charles! Please, are you home?”
He looked at Elisa. The poor lady shut her eyes and held his hand with her cold, sweating fingers.
“Help me, Leonhard! Please…” Her voice was low, weak, begging.
“You will be fine, my dear.” Impatient, he shouted louder. “Dr. Charles! If you’re home, please help us! Elisa needs your assistance.”
A tall, ghostly figure appeared by the handrail on the second floor. When he realized the urgency, he hurried downstairs to attend to them. He pulled up a chair, shoving Leonhard from his seat.
“Get my suitcase from upstairs. Ask Gerania and Iphigenia to boil water. Hurry! Let’s not waste any more precious time.”

tightrope teaser 2

Danny crawled to the chair where she’d moved and planted himself on the floor at her feet. He curled his arm around her leg and leaned his head against her knee. His touch made her tremble and his need to touch her made her nervous especially after what he’d told her. What had changed? She looked down at him and curled her fingers to avoid running them through his hair. She leaned her head back and closed her eyes as he rubbed her calf. When a moan slipped, her eyes flew open and she looked down. He was staring at her and the hot, glazed look was back. What the hell did that look mean? The vision of making him kiss every inch of her legs made her squirm. While they stared at each other, he planted a kiss to her knee and her pussy clenched making her breath catch as the aftershock of his kiss made every nerve in her body hum. She pushed him away and stood.

“Danny, what’s going on?”

“What do you mean?”

Anxiously, she cleaned away the food from the coffee table because she had to put some distance between them.
“Rio? What do you mean?” He asked as he followed her into the kitchen carrying the rest of the dishes.

“I mean, why now? You’ve never noticed me before, why now?” she insisted as she grabbed the dishes from his hands and shoved them into the sink.

“What makes you say that?” he asked taking her hands.

“What the hell do you want from me? Just say it!” she demanded pushing his hands away.
He took a step backwards, “I can’t make what I want any more obvious, what do you really want?”

Asking that question rendered her speechless for a moment and told her he’d figured out what everyone had known for years. She’d been crazy in love with him when they were growing up. Every waking fantasy she had involved Danny. Stepping into her space, he cupped her face and mesmerized her with the heat in his coal black eyes while her skin flushed and warmed. In her wildest dreams she never imagined a touch that could set her on fire the way his did. The heat radiating from her had to burn his hands when he held her. She grabbed his wrists to push him away because this was about to get beyond her control.

“I need you to tell me what to do,” he murmured pulling her close. Before she could answer, he took her mouth in a searing kiss. Something inside her snapped as she grabbed the nape of his neck and pulled him closer. She broke away and looked at him determined to take him over completely. If he wanted a kiss, she’d do this her way and give him a kiss he’d never forget. She understood what guys wanted. They talked about it all the time in front of her and with her. Bemoaning how they wished their wives or girlfriends would take over and show them what the hell to do. She knew it was crap. The minute some woman actually gave them what they claimed they wanted, it scared the hell out of them. But Danny was different, and she almost believed that was exactly what was he asking from her.

“Then quit fucking around, and kiss me like you mean it,” she said.

“Show me,” he said.

Grabbing his face, she locked her mouth onto his, asserting her control by sliding her tongue into his mouth and brushing it over his tongue. She gripped his arms and dug her nails into the skin over rock-hard muscles. He groaned at the sudden, aggressive turn of the tables. It surprised her when his body went slack and he let her take control. Other men she’d known fought her and would bend only when it suited them. Danny was different and surrendered under her touch. Her body responded hungrily as he yielded to her, but she refused to get sucked in. It was her turn to devour him and make him a little crazy. At the thought of carrying through with some of the ideas he’d planted in her head, her nipples beaded and sent a fresh surge of arousal to her pussy. He grabbed her, pulled her close, and thrust his hips forward, letting her know his cock was hard and ready. Finding her control was slipping at his onslaught, she broke and looked at him.

“If you want me to show you and tell you what to do, you’ll do this my way, understood?”

When Danny leaned in for another kiss, she put her hands on his chest and stopped him. She smiled knowingly and looked at him for a long time. His heartbeat increased, pounding against her hand. She rubbed his chest, soothing him when his eyes closed, and he took a deep breath. She cupped his face, and rubbing against his scruffy face made her fingers tingle. She didn’t want to stop but knew she had to. She couldn’t let him have his way...yet. She kissed his cheek tenderly.

“It’s time for you to go.”
