Kelley Harvey's So.Bad. ●Review●

a Bad Boy Next Door Novel

Author: Kelley Harvey

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Release Date: August 27, 2015

Book Blurb
I can look but not touch. That’s the rule.
That’ll keep us all out of trouble
and ensure our trust funds are secure.
But some women are worth the risk.
I try to protect her from him.
I should protect her from me instead.

Manwhore—and he’s not afraid to let everyone know it.
We aren't friends, not by any stretch,
though I’ve always secretly hoped for more.
Then he touches me and I’m lost.
But Danny isn't just an average asshole.
He’s bad to the core.
So. Bad.

So.Bad. was a huge surprise! I expected a super hot alpha male trying to go after a hard to get female, and I got that but what I didn't expect was the same alpha male being such a good guy! The rebel with a cause all the while everyone only saw the delinquent. I empathized with Danny so hard during this book. being able to see his side from the beginning and knowing what he gave up. And I felt bad for Mo even while I wanted to whack her up side the head to tell her to wake up.

The characters in the book were nicely written and worked so well together. Danny and Mo fairly sizzled off each other any time they were close together. Kelley Harvey has very descriptive scenes and those between Mo and Danny are super hot! This book takes a twist and then they have to decide if they can handle it. I loved the book. It was fantastic and I will have to go back and read the other books by Kelley Harvey. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys books about desperate love and conquering fears.
My rating system is different from Amazon where this will be a 5☆. See my rating chart to the right.

            "Get him!”
Adam heard those words and turned to run. Outnumbered, he didn’t stand a chance against three of them and knew he was dead. But he ran anyway. He could hear the boys crashing through the trees behind him. Knowing the area helped Adam somewhat. Their ability to run faster, as well as smell him, gave them the advantage.
Hearing the painful yell, Adam knew that one of the boys was shifting. He pushed harder, trying to figure out how the hell he was going to get himself out of this mess. A thought hit him and he grabbed the lowest branch, swinging himself up and into the tree. His plan was to go as high as possible. He could fight them off if they had to hang on to the branches to keep themselves from falling, or at least he hoped.
Unfortunately, he hadn’t counted on them being able to jump quite so high. Ten feet in the air, Adam heard one of them following him up the tree. Glancing below, he saw Lee scrambling not too far behind.
Lee bounded up to the branch below and scrambled quickly to catch him. Grabbing Adam's foot, he gave a powerful yank and pulled him from the tree before he could fight back.
Grunting, he fell out of the tree, landing flat on his back. With a whoosh, the air rushed from his lungs, he gasped to catch his breath. Staring up into the bright yellow eyes that glared down at him, Adam winced from the pain, wrinkling his nose in disgust when the saliva from the snarling snout dripped across his cheek. Squinting, he turned his head away, hoping for a quick and painless death. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Nelson lash out with his booted foot. The first kick landed in his ribs, forcing him to curl into a painful wracked ball.
“You should have stayed away.” Lee circled around, raised his foot and stomped.
Another foot landed with a sickening crack, his arm snapped. Adam clenched his teeth to keep from yelling out in agony.
He glared up at the wolf and the two boys standing over him. “Didn’t your mother ever teach you not to play with your food?” His voice strained with pain.
“Always the smart ass!” Nelson stepped forward and aimed a kick for the middle of his back, laughing when Adam grunted and squirmed on the ground. Looking to the wolf he ordered, “Do it.” He stepped back, motioning for the wolf to move in.
The wolf lunged. Grabbing Adam's leg. His sharp teeth sliced through the material of the jeans with ease, sinking into the fleshy part of his thigh.

Shay Savage's Caged Series ▩Review & Giveaway▩

Liam & Tria’s gritty love story concludes in RELEASED!
Released (Book Three) Caged Series

Oblivion is a sweet, sweet place.
No pain. No disturbing thoughts of the past. No guilt from my recent actions.
Deep down, there is still a part of me that knows how screwed up I am. I don’t see a way out, not now. Tria’s gone, and the possibility of her forgiving me in my current state is exactly zero. I know I have to pull myself together, accept my responsibilities, and try to make amends, but I have no idea where to start.
No job. No apartment. I’m living on the streets with the other junkies. As little as I had to offer Tria before, I have nothing to give her now. The only way out is to come clean and tell Tria the truth about my past, but the idea of reliving the memories is so painful, I can’t think about it long enough to figure out a solution.
I’ve hit rock bottom, and I don’t even know which way is up any more.

I reached out and touched the edge of the pillow.  It was insanely soft and warm.  I stroked it, and images of Tria’s breasts crawled through my head, making me smile.  I stroked my cock as I thought about her, but I couldn’t come.
I could hear a voice in the other room, but it didn’t concern me, so I didn’t move.  Through heavy eyelids, I watched the piles of dirty laundry all over the floor.  I found shapes of animals in the patterns, just like cloud pictures.
“The beans are gone.”
I rolled my head to the side and looked up at Krazy Katie’s face.  I smiled and tried to say something, but my tongue wasn’t cooperating.  I focused on her eyes as they stared down at me quizzically.
“Trains need an engineer,” Krazy Katie said.
“It’s okay,” I said.  My tongue still felt weird, all numb and heavy.  I twisted it around in my mouth, and it tickled my teeth.  I blinked a couple of times before looking back at my neighbor.  “I got the helm.  I’m all good.”
Did trains have a helm, or was that just boats?  I laughed.
Krazy Katie covered her eyes with one hand.  I could see her chest rising and falling as she took long breaths.  I started counting slowly in my head but quickly forgot the number.
“Left the station,” she said quietly.  “No engineer.  Kicked in the caboose.  Nothing but tracks.”
She turned in slow motion, and I watched vapor trails of her dull blue T-shirt swirl around the room as she left.  I heard the window slide shut and then silence.
“I’m all good,” I whispered.
There was no reply.
Even though my arms and legs were way too content to be bothered with moving, I shoved myself out of bed anyway.  My rig was sitting on the kitchen table, all ready to go.  I was still pretty high, but I could feel darkness closing in around me, and I didn’t want it.
I wanted warmth and happiness.
Plastic tube, arm slap, needle prick.
“Like a fucking pro.”
I lay my head on the table as the fluid sensations rippled through me.  Tria didn’t matter.  She’d forgive me in time.  In fact, she was probably already over it.  How could she not be?
“I’m good.  Really, I am.”
I was never one to lie to myself, but it was getting easier all the time.

The Caged series was one of great highs and low blows, but it was also one of great love. For Liam and Tria to find this love in each other, fight for it, feel it, and keep it was the biggest fight they have ever faced. I do feel a small warning should be put out that if some is sensitive to  a couple perceived as being brother and sister dating though they weren't actually related could bother you (NOT Liam and Tria), this book has a couple chapters that deal with it and a couple others like it. This is a reference of Tria's past and where she comes from.

Tria and Liam both are essentially broken in their own ways. Liam more so and when I got to how broken he was it was heart rending. From the first book to the third both characters grew exponentially. Liam learned he could care for someone again and Tria learned she could be wanted for just her. These two had so much to learn.

These books can not be read out of order as they each pick up where the last one ends. They must also be read in order to get the full story and the full scope of emotions, events and how everything from the previous book affected them in the next one.

The characters are all complex and fully rounded. A reader becomes fully invested in the outcome Tria and Liam's story. I need their happy ending, I need things to work out, I need it all to be ok. But the story is written very well and I honestly didn't know what would happen for sure until the end.

Shay Savage has fantastic descriptive writing, sometimes a little too fantastic and I wished I could unread it! Shay brings the pain, despair, struggle and even the desperate love out on the these pages. They practically leap off and grabs me by the throat squeezing my air as I struggled right along with Liam and Tria. It was a great series one not to miss out on. The love was just as beautiful, filling up my eyes and chest with each bright word. I highly recommend this series to anyone wanting a hard fought and hard won love story.

Ember is a drop-dead gorgeous Las Vegas escort. He notices Alejandro in some of the classes he teaches at his side business—a yoga studio. Then, color-blind Alejandro further captures Ember’s attention when he’s blinded by a quick change in light and needs Ember’s help at a club. What Ember doesn’t expect is the way Alejandro touches his heart.
Alejandro never intended to develop feelings for Ember. He’s in Las Vegas for a year to sow some wild oats. But Alejandro quickly sees more in Ember when he sets out to make some of Alejandro’s dreams come true—including a trip to the Grand Canyon and the beaches of LA. Alejandro’s wild oats could turn into something memorable.
Ember knows keeping his escort job from Alejandro isn’t the right thing to do, but he wants to be liked for who he is. Alejandro keeps his own secrets for the same reason. “Thank you for the drink,” Ember said, turning to him.
“You’re welcome.” Alejandro smiled slightly and watched Jimmy and Ember step around the table. The other guys all said good-bye, exchanging hugs and talking quietly.
“Is that the guy from the yoga studio?” Christo whispered, and Alejandro nodded slightly.
“For God’s sake,” Christo said. “You’ve been sitting here chatting him up and you’re just going to let him go? Have I taught you nothing? Before he leaves, ask him out, get his number, something.”
“How do I know he’s interested?”
“How do you know he’s not? Someone has to make the first move, so get up out of that seat and go ask him out. If you want something, you need to make it happen.”
“You sound like my father.”
“Maybe he’d be right, in this case.” Christo paused. “Do I have to do what I did to get you that date to the Christmas ball?”
Alejandro stood. “If you do, so help me, I’ll….”
Christo stepped back and folded his arms over his chest. “You have ten seconds.”
“I wonder why I’m friends with you,” Alejandro muttered as he stood up and walked to the end of the table. Christo could be such a pain in the ass at times.
Jimmy and Ember were getting ready to leave, and Alejandro wondered how he should broach the subject. Back home, he’d… hell, back home he’d never in a million years have the guts to approach another guy like this. Maybe that was the problem? He kept thinking like he was back home, and he wasn’t… at least for now. He was here, in Las Vegas—what did he have to lose?
“Ember,” Alejandro said when they turned away from the table.
“Go on out to the car, I’ll be right there,” Ember said to Jimmy.
“Umm, I wanted to thank you for helping me earlier, and I enjoyed meeting your friends. They seem really nice.” He was beginning to sweat something fierce and figured he might as well get this over with. Ember could tell him he wasn’t interested, and Alejandro could go back to the table and proceed to drink a few more martinis before heading home for the night.
“Is there something you wanted?”
Alejandro nodded and rubbed the back of his neck. If he got any more nervous, he was going to puke, and that would be so attractive. “I was wondering if you’d like to have dinner with me? I’m a terrible cook, but we could go someplace, then maybe a show.” He knew he sounded like a schoolboy, but he’d at least gotten the words out.
Ember looked like he wasn’t sure how to respond. He blinked a few times, and Alejandro actually wondered for a second if this was the first time anyone had asked him out, but that seemed doubtful. Alejandro prepared himself for rejection. He figured Ember had to be thinking of a way to “let him down easy,” like they said on television.
“I’d love to,” Ember finally answered, and it took Alejandro a second to register Ember had said yes. “Let me give you my phone number so we can talk and arrange an evening.”
Alejandro’s heart began working again and he smiled hugely. “That would be great.” Alejandro reached into his pockets for something to write on, but came up empty. Christo pressed a card into his hand, and he peered at it and then gave it to Ember with a smile. Ember handed him a card from the yoga studio.
“I put my number on the back. I really have to go. But we’ll talk tomorrow afternoon.” Ember waved and then turned and threaded his way through the people toward the front of the club.

The Gift was like all of Andrew Grey's books, a work of art. Every book by Mr. Grey that I have read has left me thinking beyond the pages, looking deeper. This book, I still do not know how he has done it but, he has written Ember who fast became my favorite as an escort but he did in a way it wasn't ugly. Yes it was distasteful, even to himself when he thought about his life, but he wrote Ember being strong rather than being used. Alejandro was wonderful as well. When I got to know his situation I could feel the noose tightening around my own neck as the book progressed. Family obligations and demands are something most everyone understands. And when those same obligations could keep you from the one person you are falling for it would make them even more confining.

As usual Andrew Grey's book is fantastic. The characters are perfectly developed and the world around them is vividly descriptive. It has some pretty humorous moments and those times when it felt like my chest was going to implode from all the heart break. Ember and Alejandro get pretty hot, passionate and loud. And total loss of control is not a bad thing sometimes. They both have some pretty fantastic friends that are more like family. They both have tragic stories that are no where near the same. This was such a beautiful love story between some very very unlikely men. I highly recommend it to those who love a good love story.

“Is there anyone else who wants to step up as my partner? Going once, going twice, and sold to the…” Angel stopped. “Sorry, boys, this one’s mine,” Lorenzo said, speaking into the microphone and wrapping his arm around her waist as he tossed the mic back. The DJ immediately began playing a latin number. His mother always said he’d danced in the womb for nine months, and came out ready to go. Lorenzo could believe it, too. He loved music, the way the beat pounded through the room making people move with it. To him, dancing was like making love to a beautiful woman. All you had to do was listen to the music, whether it was a fast song with instruments, or a sweet woman’s voice. You only had to move your body and guide them with a strong hand. Angelina danced her body close to his as soon as the song started, and then moved away. Her breasts scorched him through the thin material of his designer shirt. Her hand fit inside his larger one, her head barely reached his shoulders even in her extremely tall, fuck me heels. There were no other words for the things on her feet. She wouldn’t meet his eyes, just looked over his shoulder, giving him a blank smile while pretending to get into the right position. He yanked her body flush with his, feeling all her soft parts fit his harder planes, making him even more aware of their differences. Moving them farther across the dance floor, away from prying eyes, he led them in a dance so sensual, so erotic, his pants became too tight. Her breathing was labored and her skin looked flushed. He was glad to not be the only one affected. Hard to believe he’d dreamed of dancing with her on that fateful night five years ago. Even harder to believe was the reality was so much better than the dream. Only now he didn’t feel like a pervert. She was not his sister, nor was she a child anymore. When her eyes still avoided his, he exerted more pressure on her back. Their bodies touched and stayed connected. With his other hand, he tilted her chin up, forcing her to meet his eyes or close her own. Either way, she had to acknowledge him. Her body trembled in his embrace, not in fear he was sure. Turning them around, he inserted his leg between her thighs, and subtly rubbed back and forth. His palm slid down her back, fingers curving to fit her rear, while his thumb rested at the top of her shorts, stroking the silky skin beneath the tank. Her pulse visibly jerked at his touch. She licked her lips, like her mouth had gone dry. His dark eyes finally connected with her emerald green irises and held, her pupils dilated, glowing like tiny chips of green fire. His own flared with desire and carnal heat. Lorenzo wanted her more than he’d ever wanted another, and that was saying a lot. Their bodies undulated, mimicking what he’d like to do with her, sans clothes. Her moves matched his, and upped him every time. With her face still held in his hand, he examined every inch of her beautiful features, committing them to memory. After what seemed like an eternity of scrutiny, he dipped his head, covered her shiny mouth with his and kissed her passionately. His tongue slipped inside her mouth, tasting, savoring the sweetness and heat within. Angelina shuddered, and heat exploded in his groin, coursing through his blood. His tongue licked the inside of her lower lip, teeth nipped at the corner of her mouth and he felt her surrender. He drew her tongue into his mouth, sucking the tip, the suction tight and rhythmic, reminding him of sex. He pictured his body thrusting into hers, her back arched, hips tilted, her body fitted to his. The vision so erotic he began to sweat, and still he kissed her. When the song ended, he relinquished his hold on her face, his knee still parting her thighs, pressing up against her flesh. She was hot, surely wet, and so responsive. He gazed down into her green orbs for a long moment, stroking her flushed cheek with the back of his hand, feeling the warmth of her skin. “I plan to claim what’s mine,” he stated simply. For a moment, she allowed her body to relax into him. He savored the feel of her soft, toned body. And then she withdrew. Even more shocking was the sense of loss he felt, his heart ached, he wanted more, needed more. He let her move back, saw her inhale, exhale, and inhale again. Her breath escaped in a whoosh of air, hitting his chest with the warm air. “I’m not a prize to be had, Lorenzo. You’d do best to remember that.” “That’s where you’re wrong, baby.” She narrowed her eyes like she was picturing him in a Chinese torture chamber. He thought of many ways they could both torment the other, and all of them involved a naked Angel, and him equally naked. She turned on her heels, ass swaying so enticingly in the snug leather he whistled. Her long black hair swung around, followed by an angry look directed at him. With short, loud stomps, Angel marched back to where he stood. He contained the grin his lips wanted to do. Sparring with the little spitfire verbally, made him hotter than ever.

Elle Boon
I’m a wife and mother who is a retired stay at home mom of 2. I say retired because my youngest is 14 and my oldest is 20. When my baby went to school, reading saved my sanity, and then the same year he started school, I was diagnosed with Cancer, again reading saved my sanity. When I recovered and realized how quickly life could change, I made a bucket list. The number one thing was to live. Check. On top of that list was to become a published author. Check. Eight years later I have accomplished that goal and several others. I live in the Midwest, but I”m a southern girl with only a slight twang who says y’all quite frequently, and am known to say “Bless Your Heart” A LOT. If you know what that means, you do not want to be the one I say that to, lol. I cuss worse than if a trucker and a sailor were put together, but I do it with class *WEG*. I write what I love to read, erotic romance. My books are definitely full of lots of story, but I leave nothing to the imagination in or out of the bedroom. My hope is that after readers have read one of my stories, they fall in love with the characters as much as I have. The best part of my new journey is that I get to create new worlds, and have all kinds of stories in my head just waiting to be written. I truly love to hear from readers. You can find me on Twitter, Facebook or my webside, but I’m on Facebook ALL the time, so find me. I’d love to hear from you J
