B&N: Coming soon

Trapper Montgomery
His darkness drew me in.
A mystery with a past I wanted to solve.
He was cold, like ice, but set me on fire.
A heat I hadn't felt in ages.
But when I saw his face, I burned...
In mourning

Brea Bradley
She melted from my voice--shuddered from my touch.
But trembled from the memories
That my face brought back.
She wanted more...
Maybe even him.
I wasn't the hand she counted on.
But I was what she was dealt...

A Wild Ace with no way to win.

Wild Aces caught me with the prologue. It had pain and the need for survival all over its pages. I was fighting with him. As I started reading the first couple of chapters it kind of lost some of its impact with me. The sexy scenes were seriously hot and Trapper is all mysterious, hot and naughty. But it was missing something for me. I hard a hard time with the insta thing they had going and I just couldn't connect to the characters the way I liked. The story was good and I wanted to read to the end to find out what was happening.

Marni Mann did a great job of building a suspense in me wondering what Trapper was into and what he was doing. I enjoyed the hints until the reveal. Wild Aces wasn't what I was expecting but it was a good book to enjoy.
My rating system is different from Amazon where this is a 3☆. See my rating chart to the right.

Meet the Author

Best-selling Author Marni Mann knew she was going to be a writer since middle school. While other girls her age were daydreaming about teenage pop stars, Mann was fantasizing about penning her first novel. She crafts sexy, titillating stories that weave together her love of darkness, mystery, passion, and human emotion. A New Englander at heart, she now lives in Sarasota, Florida with her husband and their two dogs who subsequently have been characters in her books. When she’s not nose deep in her laptop working on her next novel, she’s scouring for chocolate, sipping wine, traveling to new locations, and devouring fabulous books.
